I could care less one way or the other, but The Real Ron seems to be missing and an awful lot of people seem to be getting their jabs in at him. It sounds like some sort of conspiracy. Has someone assassinated him?

Hmmm, I wonder do you call that ironic when a character such as The Real Ron gets ASSASSinated?

A few thoughts;
Over the years, there has been a number of "interesting/knowledgable/rude/obnoxious/well educated/fill in your favorite adjective" people on this site, that have came and went. THEREALTROLL, er, RON might just be another "come and go" He might have just "moved on".
I tend to believe he was "sent packing" though.
I have had more than my share of dis-agreements with him (Not least of which was his insistance that Oliver tractors were superior to ALL brands, and his opinion was all the proof we needed). I disagree with a number of opinions daily. SO WHAT!

Some people tend to bring out the worst in others. Call it a gift.....

I kinda look at things on this site as an open debate, but not a life-changing experience. It's good to debate your side. It's essential to hear the OTHER side. How else can one form an objective opinion?

For better or worse, theREALron is gone.

AMEN! John

Mornin' 720Deere,

I've paced the floor and worried about this all night, couldn't sleep, this for me, was just a terribly agonizing ordeal throughout the whole of the night. :>)

But, it occurs to me now, with the coming of the dawn and the clarity of mind, which the new day will always bring:

Ron is really upset and further, Ron is justifiably worried:

He is truly going through an unbelievably traumatic experience over this one situation, this one and only, all-important issue and he just does not want to post until he has done his extensive online research and is positively sure of what he says and is accurate down to the smallest detail. He does not, at this critical juncture, want to make any mistakes concerning this subject. This is very essential to the overall tone of discussion!

Ron doesn't think ampacity is a real word either. :>)

Mornin' Everyone! :>)

Allan

Thanks alot guys, some welcome back. Check those ISP's closer. How the heck are you mixing me up with "the real ron"? I've been in the Canadian Far North for 2-1/2 weeks hunting moose, fishing and enjoying a beer with breakfast. No phone or electricity for 40 miles and only access is by floatplane. Shot the bull there (literally ). Hauled it and another monster moose the same day, out of tag adder bogs up to my butt in cold water/mud. No trucks or 4wheelers there. Field dressed one of them too. As for not being sensitive, I baked treats for guys including chocolate chip cookies, muffins, fresh blueberry pancakes and biscuits. Along with steak/mushrooms, pork chops, potatoes, gravy, hot roast moose meat sandwiches, chilli, spaghetti with meat sauce, beer battered walleye, home fries, bacon, sausage and eggs over easy ( most of the time anyways). I did have to take the smoke detector outside when making toast over the LP stove burners. As for being rude. There are some people who will not believe doing a tinker fix without the proper tools, parts and manuals isn't as good as a proper repair. They they wonder what happened when equipment fail$ wor$e afterward$, has to be done again or someone gets hurt/killed. Yes if someone appears to be a dangerous fool rather than beginner who doesn't know better. They may well get a blunt and to the point answer.

Ron had some good answers, he is a smart man. However, it bothered me the way he tried to trash T-Bone.... No matter how dumb the question, T-Bone gives an answer without bashing anyone. I consider that the mark of a true gentleman. Like the old saying goes.. the only dumb questions are those never asked.... Regards, Davis

I always went to Ron"s posts first because I knew they would be either informative or provocative. No "check with your dealer", "get a manual" or "Do a Google search" bandwidth wasters.

Ron COULD use a little humility - even if he has to fake it.

Ya know folks, the last time I"d heard from him was about the time a post came up about IP addresses, and him posting as someone else. Have noticed he"s been gone since.

Admittedly, there are times when a person could reach in through the keyboard and slug him a couple thousand times, and then there are times when he"s bluntly helpful - to the point, end of story, no pompousness, or anything like that.

One thing"s for sure, I"m not the only one who"s noticed his absense, and good, bad, or indifferent, he"s obviously made an impression. I"ve always been one to stand up and be counted, but hopefully not in a way where I become a target, at least if it"s not in good humor.

By the way, anyone other than me ever notice that he and buickanddeere never ever posted at exactly the same time? LOL in good humor. By the way, any of you ever notice that me and Captain Dan The Newsman never post at exactly the same time either. Hmm? And before anyone asks, as far as I"m concerned, those documents were fraudulant and forged, no matter what he still maintains.

Seems to me TheRealRon called someone recently a liar when he was attacked regarding something about ISP's. The ISP attack I thought was totally unneccessary as this issue had been put to bed a while back. He was just defending himself.

I, too, miss his point of view.

Some folks are conspicuous, while others are conspicuous by their absense. "The Real Ron" fits the latter. I sort of miss his pompous, arrogant, know it all demeanor(does anyone remember Howard Kossell?). One could always tell when he could no longer defend his point of view or opinion as he would at that point resort to name calling (we"re all inbreds, remember?) The world needs guys like Ron as his antics only reenforced everyone elses position and theories. Where oh where have you gone, Ron?

The post got removed and he has not posted again.

That should tell you where he is at. I think it is most likely time to just move on and get on with life.

You know, some of his posts kinda made me red faced...and they weren"t even directed at me. Supposing that he treated the people in the real world the same as he treated the people here on the board...maybe someone had what Ron had only worse and did him in? He very well could have been a psychologist doing an experiment in human nature...one never knows in the virtual world. Fred OH
