Hi Pete,

Without a discription/picture, any of the SWAG's listed below could be close.

I have a IH-340U (35hp,4900lbs wet) orginal Pippin loader/hoe that would probably scale at close too 8500lbs.

Just under 2000 pounds for the 8N as I recall, probably 300 pounds for a wagner loader, 500 to 1000 for a small back hoe, that's my guess.

I remember when I had an 8N, weight for traction wasn't one of its features. It was too light for its little 18 or 20 hp.

I've got a 1963 Ford 4000 with a backhoe and front loader - it's a little bigger than an 8N, but not by much. It weighs a total of 10,500 lbs.

You know, I've never weighed an 8N and I have heard that factory weight was around 2400 lbs, But I've never seen 1 get into a 2700 lb weight class in antique tractor pulls without removing lots of parts. I would bet that most run of the mill N's will be over 3000, and the loader that went on most N's probably had 300 lbs of rust and dirt caked grease. These old tractors weigh more than most folks think they do. I heard some one say a Cub Farmall weighs 1300 lbs according to some chart they saw, maybe so, but again I expect that if you weigh the next 100 Cubs you see, I'll bet that the average will be close to 2000. Has anyone weighed their tractor to see how they compare to what some brochure says? I'd be interested to hear, Later, Nat
