This is just a eazy way to fix your pto shaft from wobbling too much if you can"t fix it the right way (buying a new shaft...) My 1971 ford 3000"s pto shaft is warn bad. The yoke will just wobble like crazy when I"m hooked up to any pto equmint type. I add a extention to it and it worked for a wile. But when I mowe I have to have an override so the mower dose not push me around. So this makes the pto realy wobble. So last nite I got tired of it and took it off to see what I could do. I got a 1" toe strap and cut it about 4" long. Put it over the shaft on the tractor and pushed the extention back on. With the help of a hammer it fit realy tight after it was bolted and putting the pto shaft from the mower on I headed out to mow. It worked GREAT. No wobble at all. Time will only tell but it will work till I can get the money to buy the pto shaft from NH. Just my way of making do..... .

NewHolland dealers ought to carry that sleeve. It's been 15 years since I bought one, and I think it was less than 10 bucks then...
However, I doubt that will work. That's a big jump to make. The shafts that I've seen worn out actually wear the leading edge of the splines off from torque. They don't reduce their diameter. Their "fit" just becomes loose until both the shaft and coupler get worn, and then the lighter couplers will spin on the shaft.
You can try the adapter sleeve if 10 bucks is nothing to you, but I'm reasonably certain it won't go on. The OD on your shaft is still going to be very close to 1-3/8"....

Well the coupler is only about a year old. But it (PTO on tractor) wobbles with any one I put on. So if the splines are the only things that wernes down then the shaft will have the same OD so putting a sleave on it with a almost new coupler will not work. Then a new shaft is on the way sone. It not to hard to to replace the out put shaft on this tractor. Its just comming up with the money to do it when all the money I make to fix the tractor comes from my mowwing jobs. LOL And here in TEXAS it is just rainning way to much. Thanks for the input from yall.

Don't take this the wrong way..... but that will work like that for a while. Until the ORC gets loose and worn from wearing on a worn shaft. Then it'll spin on the shaft, and you'll have the need for an ORC and a new shaft. They will spin with enough load....
Might be well advised to look into a used shaft if possible, or at least keep in mind to replace as soon as you can.

How worn we talking.. like worn down to the size of a 1 1/8 old style pto like the older fords had? If so there was a stamped sleave to bushing them up to 1 3/8.. IE it has 1/8 inch walls and adds 1/4" overall OD. A flat file and that may make it slip on your old worn pto shaft.. also a cheap fix.

good luck.
