I don't think its clear. Whats the difference between somebody that doesn't own a tractor or one that has the hired help do everything.

I enjoy politics like everyone else, and nothing personal, but I don't think that this one matters - there is no sure or known answer.

I'd say both are opportunistic posers (like 99.9 percent of politicians), but Bush is more likely to outsource your job and the tractor plant that made your tractor.

Anybody who thinks that Kerry is singlehandedly going to ban guns doesn't know the NRA. Guns won't ever be banned because the NRA won't let it happen.

Choosing Bush over Kerry because of the gun issue (or any of the other divisive issues) is plain crazy. Things have gotten worse, not better in the past 4 years. Hope we get a better president for the next 4.

Mike, I guess you belong to the NRA and give them enough money every year that you know what they can and can't do, right?

Kerry will never win a national election, he is a traitor to the US and a huge fool besides.

That's right, and right on too. Harley1983 here, and my service number for those who care to check it out was B587333 and I was in An Thoi, Phu Quoc, RVN at the same time as Herr Kerry, only I did 19 months , not three or four, and he is a liar and a coward and should have been imprisoned for collaberating (sp?) with the enemy and leaving his boat crew in the war zone while he came home. He is a disgrace to the uniform, although we didn't get many as they rotted as fast as you could get them, but I digress. Anyway, enough sugar-coated politics. Let's talk tractors, Harley

Mornin' Harley,

Not to worry, this guy is even embarrasing his own party.

He is just out there for election day fodder; he doesn't have a prayer of actually winning the thing. :>)

My "there you go" was to MikeinIA's. You don't have to be a part of the NRA you just have to have a general ideal how our congress works. Just spread a little green and something like a gun ban will never happen. I think its pretty shallow to vote for somebody on whether you get to keep a machine gun or not. I don't think Kerry's a traitor if he was just trying to stop the war like Nixon, Kissinger etc.

Quote from tlak: "Just spread a little green and something like a gun ban will never happen."
Sir or Madam, I think that you are seriously optomistic on what the NRA is capable of. There are several avenues of attack on the second amendment. One of the most dangerous and not well published is from the UN. They are working on a binding international treaty to ban private ownership of firearms world wide. If the treaty is ratified by the Senate and signed by the President, the second amendment will evaporate. Mr. Kerry is on record about his belief that the UN should control the worlds destiny. That in its-self should give most people pause to think about his future actions. While in the Senate, Mr. Kerry has voted more than FIFTY TIMES against gun rights. What makes you think that he will do any different in the future?
A lot of the replies to this post seem to be made from preconcieved ideas on the candidates. DON'T fall into that trap. RESEARCH each candidates past voting records. THEN make up your mind! There are things that President Bush has done that I disagree with, BUT I don't let that detract from my opinion of his overall record. On the other hand, I find it difficult to find many things that Senator Kerry has done that I support.
I try to look through the daily manure that we are presented thru the national media to see what each candidate stands for. I keep having to go back to their records. For me the choice is clear.
I can only say this, INFORM YOURSELF!!! Do NOT rely on the press or what your buddies say. Do the research and then make your decision. Research BOTH men's records.
All the green spread around in Washington will not amount to anything, if a misguided Congress and President decide to sign a treaty or bill that GIVES YOUR RIGHTS AWAY.
God help this country if we choose wrong in November.

Britt

I figure Bush knows alot more about things the common man does, including tractors, than Kerry ever will. Beyond just the tractors though,I know one thing I see all the time on here is guys having problems with animals, both wild and domestic causing problems for them. The standard comeback is the 3S's. Let kerry in he';s gonna do his best to make sure we don't have that capability anymore. Bush is an avid outdoorsman who actually hunts, if you want to call what the rich do real hunting. Point is to Bush gun control is hitting your target. Kerry on the other hand talks big but he doesn't have a clue. Here is a quote from him to a reporter from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel on deer hunting. "I go out with my trusty 12ga double barrel, and crawl around on my stomach. In track and move, decoy and play games and try to outsmart them. You know, you kinda play the wind....That's hunting" I don't know about any of you, but that doesn't sound like deer hunting to me. Lets assume he's Tracted down a good place to hunt. Next we see him Crawling through the wetlands on his belly (so the PETA people don't see him) to his trusty Movable hunting blind. There he'll throw out his trusty Decoys and let them Play in the Wind at the end of their tethers. Then he'll start Playing with a call. If he plays it right he might Outsmart them and make them think he's a friend and come in close where he just might get a shot off with his "trusty 12ga" at a rare and ellusive Mallard Buck..... Don't let him fool you people. His voting record already shows that if he had his way none of us would be safe from wild animals, intruders, or any other time we might find it necessary to defend ourself, our family, or our property with a firearm. But while we're all setting at home without the right to defend ourself and police departments too tied up with other things to provide each of us with 24/7 protection he'll have the Secret Service guys surrounding him with enough firepower to start a small war..... .. Maybe we can just run over the criminals or wild animals with our tractors...Let's see, once again we have 3S's, Squash with the tractor, shovel and shutup.....Just my .02

Bush also was asked about his outdoor activities in an interview July 14 during a Wisconsin bus tour.

Asked what he likes to hunt, he said: "Quail and dove. It's about the only kind of hunting I do."

Bush said he likes to shoot a 20-gauge over-and-under shotgun.

Bush also described himself as an "avid fisherman." In a just-published interview with Field & Stream magazine, Bush talked about his enthusiasm for bass fishing. He said that while he likes to hunt quail, "I'm not a very good shot - I'd be the first to admit it. But I like to be outdoors. I like the exercise. I love to watch the dogs work."

Bush knows more about tractors, Kerry knows more about Swift boats. I think I'd feel comfortable recommending Bush for a job operating a tractor and I'd feel comfortable recommending Kerry as a Swift boat commander. Unfortunately that ain't the job they got their eyes on.

Unfortunately, a few hundred (or thousand?) of big John's swift boat buddies don't share your confidence in the big K as a commander of anything... they lay out the facts in "Unfit for Command" (on the best seller list at bookstores everywhere) Funny how Kerry's campaign has repeatedly called for the swifties to pull the book off the shelves and quit talking, but hasn't really refuted anything stated in the book. Also funny is that I don't remember anyone connected to President Bush trying to silence michael moore.

Hey I gotta get in on this one. Crawford is about 1 1/2 hours south of me here in Waxahachie. We saw alot of the ex- Gov on TV while on his ranch. He loves to drive around in that white Ford F-250 and watch the cows. Cant blame a guy for that. He even cooks his own BBQ on his smoker. If thats not down to earth and closer to the "common man" I dont know what is. That pompas aristocrat Kerry probably has forgoten how to drive a car and wouldnt know what BBQ is much less touch it. I say "get a rope"

Bush might be good at cutting firewood etc but he has no knowledge of how to run a country . First he had to start a war alone now everybody is laughing at USA. he took a country that was in the black and took us down 400 some billon. ,outsourced all good paying jobs gave tax breaks to 5% of taxpayers, his education bill is bad news . Now there is the facts I don,t know anybody who can do this much damage in 4 years . my thoughts

You ever cut a cedar tree down? They are a tick magnet. You crawl in it to cut some of the brush branches off so you can get at the base. So Bush has been rich all his life and you think he has ever done that.

If you are wanting to know which one has closer ties to "agriculture", IE, owns farmland, raises livestock, grows crops, and which one married the "ketchup queen" and has 57 overseas factories, that's a good question!

I HAVE seen a picture of the Bush Ranch, which included a shot of a John Deere tractor in the background! No, I can't post a link---I don't even remember WHERE I saw the picture, but I did see it!
