Bought a tractor made in Belgium. Has a remote hyd single spool cyl and the in-out ports are currently capped. Attempting to hook up remote hoses and QD's.

Tried my 1/2" SAE threads, bought at TSC but this is just slightly smaller which leads me to believe it's metric. Would like to come out of the spool housing with a straight pipe with jamb nut and O-ring, make a quick right angle, and adapt to accept a hose with a male 1/2 pipe (tapered).

Have another problem. The holes in the housing are within 2" of oneanother which makes it impossible to install 2 rt angles unless something can spin, like the nut on a flare fitting; where you can hold the right angle part in one position and tighten the nut to make the connection.

Maybe the right answer is the straight thread with O-ring and jamb nut adapted into a flare nipple. Then I could get a hyd hose with a flare end (rather than the pipe thread) coming right into a pipe right angle then clamped onto the hose. That should work. Glad you talked me thru that. Sometimes it's good to have a good listener. Grin.

I guess a good www metric fitting house is where I need to start. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Be prepaired to pay for them. I bought a 4 spool valve off an old fork lift for a backhoe project. It had metric connections. Stoped of at a hyd shop and ended up payin about $20 a piece for adaptors.

You may want to price having the hoses made up to make the turn as you described. I know they make the nipples to fit the valve. I took one out of mine. The nipple has a flange that holds the o-ring. From there use a 90 connector/adaptor.

Another problem I discovered on my system - The one blocked port on my fork lift valves, The spool didn't provide flow to it. I'd check to see it activating the valve causes loading on the system. (pops the relief valve) You might have a dummy valve.

I moved the lever to forward and reverse positions (up and down) and the engine loaded against both so she's ready to pump.

Found the adapters in the "Aeroquip" Catalog. FYI, if anyone is interested, the fitting I needed was male British Straight Pipe (metric)on the control side, and JIC 37 degree male (SAE)on the hose side. Since I am using 1/2" hyd hose, depending on your dimensions being Metric 16 mm or 18 mm, your Aeroquip PN's are:

GG108-NP-08-16 or
GG108-NP-08-18

Don't know price yet as local dist is getting them for me. Doesn't matter.....when ya gotta hav em, ya gotta hav em. Besides, to do without them, I'd have to spend a couple hundred for a control box.

Thanks,

Mark
