A friend and I are trying to find the name of a garden tractor I think that was orange or red, had the engine in the back, you set in front of engine, had large thin rear wheels, small thin front wheels, about 12 to 18 HP. Think it was used for digging taters or something like that.

Thanks to all of you.
The AC model G is what we were looking for. My friend saw one down here in Virginia, and hadn't seen one since he was a kid (and he's older than dirt now).
Just brought back memories, and neither of us could remember what it was.
Thanks again.
Dave

It sounds like an AC G like the others said. They are an interesting tractor, my father-in-law has two operable ones and one parts one. They were not really garden tractors. They were used as full scale farm tractors in thier time.

If you'd like some pics, I could get some to you but it wouldn't be for several weeks as they're in Lancaster and I live in Dane. Seed corn harvest is starting very, very soon and I won't be home for awhile.

I agree with Steve, sounds like a G. They are worth a fair bit if it's in good shape.

Sounds like an Allis Chalmers model G.

Also, there have been several newer reincarnations of that desogn, the Hefty "G", for one.
