I have a 1938 unstyled "A" John Deere tractor that has numerous tiny holes right around the sediment bowl. Tried to patch it with JB weld, etc... no luck-- What works for you? What is it called? Where can I find it? Thanks for your help!

Belive it or not try a bar of Ivory soap will seal it up until it gets washed or rained on.

There should be a gas tank repair shop in your area, take it to them for a good job.

I have used an old copper soldering iron and sweat soldered patches on fairly easy. This is an old way of doing things but works real well as there is no open flame near the tank and it is a solid permanent fix and not a ucky pucky quick fix.

Just dont use a welder or a torch. That could create a larger hole.

Hard to believe the JB Weld didn't work. I just fixed a hole in my son's '72 Torino with JB. I use the JB Kwik that sets up in 4 minutes. Make sure the surface is dry and clean - no gas residue. Then rough up the area with sand paper - then re-clean. Mix the JB throughly so there are no bubbles in it. Apply smoothly. A trick I learned is after you apply, wet your finger tip with spit or soapy water and smooth the JB weld out. This will leave a clean smooth surface. Good luck.

Try BJ weld... I did this to my gas tank. let it dry for 48 hrs then it's ready to go.

if the hole is big cut some small steel for around it and put BJ weld on it then cover the hole.

Go to your auto parts store Bumper to Bumper is best. Any parts store should have a patch kit for gas tank You mix equal parts then work in on the hole. Fixed a hole on a S10 about 3/16 wide and 1 1/4 long once still holding.
