If You have been on the website long You might be afraid of overseas ads such as Africa! Check the archives for fraud, & You will see what I mean!

Scotty: There are currently several adds in photo add section, and the tractors are not what the seller claims. I notice the adds come from places like PA, CT, IA, etc. Maybe you should avoid these also.

Scotty: Get a life, anyone with an ounce of brains is not going to truck this old iron more than 500 miles. If he does not have the smarts for that all the warnings going will never protect him from fraud.

I think it great to see world wide adds on here. If you don't like an add, you need not respond.

Been here for several yrs, those schemes you speak of dealt with "buyers" defrauding sellers out of money by fraudulent means not vice versa.I saw 1 ad for some steam engines for sale in Africa.Considering the thousands of $$ it would take to buy, import and restore them I doubt if the average US Joe who couldn't afford to investigate them in person or by proxy would be buying, whereas a museum or Euro/African collector might.
Not faulting your feelings sir, just feel you are overreacting a bit, just on the Africa thing,as with millions of tractor buffs worldwide theres bound to be a few honest Africans among em :)

Joe: My sentiments exactly. Some of these guys are certainly paranoid. This is a world wide site, and it just may surprise Scotty how many of these guys come from other countries. He may not be interested but someone close by maybe. I for example live in SW Ontario Canada, wouldn't even look at an add out of the US unless it were MI,IN, OH or NY. The cost of moving old equipment is just too great. Some people may have more money than brains, but only a few.

Guess I don't understand your concern here.Websites are international in scope and so are tractors and related items.Photo ads are for folks selling such items anywhere they are.
Whether next door or the other side of the world the old saw"Let the buyer beware" holds true.
