Hello all...just wanted to update you on Dillon. He is "out" of ICU, in his own room. I talked to him on the phone today, he is finished with the skin graphs, just has to go to O.R. for leg dressings. He is sitting up on his own, playing ball, Nintendo 64, and doing puzzles. He knows he was in an accident, and knows he is missing a leg, but doesnt know he has lost a Grandmother and a cousin yet. Thanks again so much for all your prayers. Will keep you informed. Thanks Charlie

Thanks for the update. With GOD all things are possible including healing of all kinds.

I tend to agree with Leland on this one. Had a buddy of mine get into a horrible wreck, ended up killing his newly wed wife, passengers in his car and one other. When he finally came out of the coma he was "lost" and could only remember scant details of the wreck.

He asked and asked for details but parents forbid all of us to even mention it. Once he was well on the path to recovery (1 yr. later) his folks relayed to full events of what happened.

It completely shattered him. He has since lost all ground gained had no medical/mental treatment to fall back on. I think that once he realized the impact all this time later he was forced to relive the events which has been tough to do for all concerned but especially Dave.

It sounds harsh but in the overall picture I think it would have been better to let him greive the losses with his family and others vs. in his own private hell.

FWIW

Shep I got a bad feeling these people are really going to screw this kid up.They don't have a clue what to do, and I bet the doctors have told them the same thing.

Glad he's doing better ,but there is no better time than the present to tell him. So doctors can treat him for shock and depression if he can't deal with it. Bacause if you wait longer he may have trouble beliving that people are truthful with him later in life.
