You have to admit, even though Mother Nature can sure be destructive, she sure is beautiful.

Good Luck! in reply to ShepFL, 09-03-2004 09:57:56
On my way into the office today saw 20+ Crinkle & Destroy (Henkels & McCoy -- the utility contractor) trucks from the Oxford, MA garage heading for the MassPike...9am is way too late for them to be starting the work day, so I'm sure they were heading to points south!

Shep,

Where are you located? My son is in Jacksonville. I also own vacation property in Largo. Watching Francis, just like I did Charley, ready to head south if needed. Keep me posted, I've opened my e-mail. Thanks

Yes Shep it is not looking good is it. It has weakened a little but a 3 is still a very strong storm. If it weakens just a little more from that dry air over west Fla. that is being drawn into it; that may knock it down to a 2 and while not good that is a lot better than a 4. Seems every advisory puts it coming in just a little
farther north. The big problem is it is slowing down and looks to be a long hard ride and is going to make for a big flooding rain for the whole state. Looks like it may go just to your west; which is going to put you in that north east quarter of the storm.

Scared ????? You do not need to be in Fla. to
be scared. Every one from NC to TX knows anything can happen and a tracking map is just a guess.

To all in FLA.
Hunker down; prepare for the worse and pray for the best. It is not going to be a pretty weekend.
Here's wishing all of you in FLA the best.

Looks like she will go right in between you (in Jacksonville) and I (In Sarasota). She is still grinding away at the Bahamas, and at this rate, expect tons of rain. I already moved one of my tractors to "higher ground"...about 6" higher down here! This is where I used to live in Port Charlotte, when Charley hit. And a lot of areas were far worse. (I moved out about 6 years ago.)
