Some states have adopted the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) which prohibits certain scales to be used for commercial sales once they have been sold, unless they have been tested in a certified state lab. In other words, NTEP has caused a substancial drop in value for platform scales. For non-commercial purposes , platform scales sell from $25 to $225, depending on condition and age (the older the better.) From the best information that I can find, Wisconsin doesn't seem to be listed as an "NTEP" state, so your scale is "worth" more there than in Ohio .

No idea on any of it. But why all the asterisks?

Can anyone tell me what a 1000# platform scale is worth?
- rod hangs down to put balance weights on
- I have two 300# one 200# and one 100# weights and the bar itself is 0 to 100#
- the bar that goes from 0 to 100# and slide weight are brass
- scale is on wheels

Now doesn't that read better?

Sincerely,
The message formatting police :)

Get your hands away from the keyboard and step away from the computer.
