Started a mowing job worked for around one hr. Stopped and came back and started mowing again. I forgot to engage my mower, and mowed for about 15 min with blades not turning. I was turning and going over the same strip over and over. Thought my blades were getting dull until I realized what was going on.Must have had a lot on my mind. Maybe the atourney I talked to in the morning at 200.00 an hour to help settle moms estate had something to do with it.

I used to run a 2505 terra gator all night we were kinfing poop into fields form a city sewage treatment plant. about 3am cold and I was beat and forgot to switch pump from pressure to vacaum had about 40psi in this huge tank truck driver climbed up trailer to open lid to vent , he waved ok . Then I open valve heard a gush but its to late about then a thousand gallons of poop went straght up and landed on this poor guy. And needless to say the rest of his night was crappy.

Reminds me of a time I was working in a coal fired power plant with another guy. Was dark and we had lamps on the hardhats. We were at the top of a stairway leading into a conveyor and I was the one at the door. On our side of the door was a heavy buildup of coal dust, on the other side of the fire door was a lot of clean air pressure. I pushed and pushed until the door finally flew open, and blew a ton of dust down on the guy behind me. After the whosh of air past me, I heard gagging, caughing, and choking behind me. When I turned around, I could faintly see his lamp glowing through a cloud of dust, and he was only about three feet behind me. When the dust cleared, the poor guy looked like Al Jolson from head to toe, and we had just started the day.

Awe, he got over it. He's my foreman, and has gotten me many times too. As for wearin somebody else's poop, I've gotta tell you, I'd still be head huntin you for that, a lifetime later if it took it. Yuck, and ha ha ha.

I did just the opposite. Worked nights for a guy several years ago. Sent me out to chop corn stalks. When I returned, he said where have you been so long. Should have been done a couple of hours ago. We drove out in daylight, only to find out I'd chopped not only his field but the neighbors as well.

I once knew a guy who did custom anhydrous application. He was running behind schedule one spring because of the weather, so he hired someone to run the rig all through the night. The next morning he discovered that the hired man had run all night long and failed to open the valve to the anhydrous tank. Burned lots of fuel and basically accomplished nothing, then had the nerve to ask the farmer if he should do it all over again.

LOL!

That sounds like ole Billy Sol Estes and his PV-82 scam back in the 50's when anhydrous was just ramping up.

He applied a whole lot of nothing all up through the center of the country for two years.

I've often wondered how many thousands of farmers got taken on that ride.

This happened in the mid 60s, and it happened on our farm. The tractor being used was that big oliver with the screaming jimmy diesel. It kept the entire family awake all night.

Hi Guy,

Yeah, I know; your post just reminded me of ole Billy Sol.

At least on your deal, the guy probably got a good seal on the second pass. :>)

I had a hired man combine a half circle of beans one time with the rock door swingin' wide open..... that one about made my day, I'll tell ya.

Bet you were mowing in circles. I sheared a pin on my Gyro shredder mowing circles. Wife kept waving every time I passed in sight of back porch. I thought maybe she was happy to see me. The macho breadwinner was very humbled when she finally flagged me down and asked just what I was doing.
