I"ve got a picture of Deere"s LAST narrow front tractor. They built ONE 4040, in 1978, for a special order customer. Don"t know about any other brands. John

Oliver and White quit making narrow fronts in 1975, but I think Deere made them a little while longer.

The 4030 & 4230 Deeres could be ordered with the rollo-matic front axle. 30 series production was the 72 to 75 model years if memory serves.

I know of an IH 686 with a factory narrow front, so that would be up to 1981.

We built some 886's & 986's in 1980 w/NFE's at FARMALL. After the switch to the one-piece front bolsters in '81 You had to switch back to the old 2-piece bolster to attach NFE. Never did that at FARMALL but may have happened at a dealer. Last 686/H86 was built in July/August '79 Was replaced with 786 that fall.
