I have a IH 666 with a oil leak behind the lift levers for the 3 point. Their is a little shaft with a snap ring on it that leaks. I pulled the seat, plate and the cylinder assembly out. I am having a bear of a time pulling that shaft with a bunch of linkages and fingers on it. I need to pull it to replace O-ring. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Hey Andy,

Have you tried loosening the clutch on the lever? Maybe that will help you ease 'er out of there.

After you get the thing repaired, I'd pull out that standpipe in the corner of the compartment to drop the level down a couple of inches.

Why IH wants that tank to be "full" all the time is beyond me; it's just dead space taking up oil and making it ride up against that upper gasket.

Just a thought,

Allan

Andy,

Clear out at the outer end of the lift lever shaft. The clutch is what keeps the lever in one position by tightening the 1/4" bolt/nut/clamp that is setting fore and aft.

Or, are you drivin out the roll pins from inside and takin' the whole shootin' match out, tube and all?

Allan
