Must be it is just me. Can't figure it out. It takes forever for my posts to go. Only on this site, others seem to work fine. Even the pictures and comments work for me, just not the discussion boards. I have rebooted, restored, and scanned for viruses. What else do I try? For now I work in two browsers and don't post much :(

This has been happening occassionally for at least the last couple of years. I posted a question yesterday and the system seemed to hang after I submitted the question. Since I normally run a couple of open brower windows at the same time, I went and check the forum page on the free window. I found the question had already been posted to the forum page with a couple of answers even though the submission page was still stuck. It appears to me that the question or comment is quickly posted but the response back to your computer saying the submission has been posted and freeing up the browser page is glitched once in a while.

My experience is the same as Hermit's. If the submit page times out or hangs after pushing the button, I just click on the back button and the post is there on the forum. I think I may have to refresh the forum page, can't remember, doesn't happen often just in bunches.

Joe

Might not be the ytmag site. Could be the network that your working through. Ytmag is trouble free for me but other sites are a nightmare. Dont know how all that stuff works but I dont think all things are equal when it comes to connecting to different sites.

OK who is messing with me? I post a message saying that I am not having any trouble with the site and my next post takes 30 seconds to go through. Whats up with that?

At various times this site has terrible posting problems. It's nothing you are or aren't doing. I've experienced lost posts, double posts, timeouts (I'm on broadband and get timeouts!) and extremely long response times. Every other site I visit I get sub-second response, every time.

Hello Everyone, have these slow posting problems been going on for a long time? A few days, a few weeks etc?

The server is actually very fast, but it could be the posting process that maybe I could tweak. So just looking for more info.

Thanks!
Kim

Kim, It doesn't happen all the time, but enough that it is a nuscience. It gets stuck on the second submit button and either times out, or when backstroking, when the post appears it appears in duplicate. I'm sure some folks must think I don't know what I'm doing as it has happened top me more times than I care to count, and it has been happening for quite a while. I just thought it was a problem with my computer rather than the posting process. I hope you are able to correct it.

Kim, for me it seems to happen at random, and not just one forum. I have had it happen on just about all of them. Like I said, it is completely at random, and very seldom happens. I have learned how to get around it so it is not really a problem for me. Keep up the good work. We tractor nuts all appreciate what you are doing.

Hi Kim,

I've only been snoopin' around here for about the last year or so, but it has been this way since I first stopped here.

I just attributed it to your heavy gate count.

Also, I notice that the cookies play a prominent role in things here as well.

Still the best hot-spot on the 'net, tho. :>)

Tryin' to help,

Allan

Hi Ron,

Another thing we might think about is that this place is the busiest coffee shop in town at times.

Might have something to do with it too.

Dunno,

Allan

Allan,

What you said about coffee shop is exactly that for me. Rather than jump in the truck and drive to town (on weekends for now) I get the coffee and the www and do my yackin.

Hi Cowman,

No, it's not just you. Me thinks that this is a very slow server.

I occasionally have problems like you describe, the next time it works just fine. I think it may be an occasional glitch in YTs system. I have also found that if your posting or reply doesn't seem to want to go, just hit your back button, like magic it shows up.
