I have just purchased a '53 Jubilee. The former owner swears up and down that someone installed a 172 cubic inch "red Tiger" engine in this tractor. My engine serial number is D3JL 6015J
What size/year engine do I really have????

I don't recognize that engine casting number. The early 172 cu in engines installed in tractors from the factory have a code "EAF 6015J" whereas the 134 cu in engine's code is EAE 6015J. It could be your engine code is for a 172 replacement block. It's a simple bolt-in swap to replace a 134 with a 172.

Post your question on the Ford board and maybe Tony Jacobs will see it. He knows engine codes by heart.
