Craftsman GT 5000 will not cut

I have a new gt 5000 25 hp kohler 48" deck,this mower keeps chocking on grass and stalls the engine,then the deck belt comes off,i only have 43 hrs on this mower.the blades ok,clean deck,.my 1976 wheel horse with 12hp plows right through with no problem even when the grass is wet.what is wrong?ready to take back.
bought new 3-04 Rick

You say you have 43hrs on the machine. How did it mow in the first 42. You bought it new and did it work when new? Dont you have a warranty?

You might also make sure that some fool at Sears didn't put on the wrong blades altoghter. Check the blade rotation and that the cutting edge of the blade is cutting. You MAY be trying to cut the grass with the back side of the blade.

Recheck the blades to make sure they were not installed upside down.
