Need to get a set of front tires for the 1755, and I cant decide if I should go with 3 or 4 rib. We always had 3 ribs, but it looks like a 4 rib might help spread the weight on the tire better. We use the tractor for haying and loader work. What type of tires do you guys prefer?

The 4-rib tires seem to have a little better feel hard surfaces (especially roads). They won't tear up the surface as much when you're turning.

On the other hand, the 3-rib tires get more bite out of the center rib for steering and and are less likely to slip sideways on a slope. On wet surfaces (dew on a hay field or after a rain for example) they're less likely to skid when you're turning.

I think you'll like the 4-rib style for haymaking. They won't cut up your hay fields as much when you turn. Keep in mind you may have to slow down a bit to turn uphill in a hayfield, especially if there's a dew.

On my green tractor (with ps), I use 8 rib 8 ply implement and like them. On my blue tractors with out ps, I find the 3 rib is easier to steer.

4 rib tires disperce the wait better and work well on say new seedings where you don't want to disturb the soil as much. 3 ribs seem to work better in tillage or ground prep work

I switched to 4-rib and they are much better for loader work. Be sure to get at least 8 ply tires.
