injector problem?? fuel leaking

I let my diesel tractor run out of fuel and after restarting it the fuel pump is leaking like crazy. I think I cloged some of the injectors which is forcing the pump to leak.
Does this sound correct. I didn't touch the pump, only the injector lines to get it restarted so I can't see why it would start leaking now.

Doug,

What make/model tractor? And you need to be more specific about how and where the pump is leaking. Are you saying that where the lines connect to the pump are leaking--like around the nuts? Give us a little more to go on and we can probably help you better...

You may have disturbed the fuel line seals at the injector. The fuel from the injector comes thru the center of a screw with a hole in the side. The fuel leaves the hole and enters the fuel line which completely encircles the screw. On the top and bottom of this interface are metallic washers which are soft as compared to the other metals (screw and tube) and when you tighten the screw down they seal; one on top under the head of the screw and one between the tube and the pump.
