My 52 super M has developed a water leal into the engine oil. Oil is very milky and emulsified.(detergent oil used. small amopunt of water/antifreeze at bottom of pan. Drained oil and flushed out pan, refilled and ran engine a few minutes.

What is most likely source. Nothing I know of occured to cause this. Am going to try to retorque head bolts but this is a long shot. any suggestions without tearing engine apart.

Ron's right. Also, I don't remember if the super M has wet or dry sleeves but if the sleeves are wet, it could be pitted liners or a bad liner seal, or both. If your sleeves are dry, count your lucky stars. I just had liner pitting happen on my wet sleeve Deere, but caught it soon enough so that all it needed was an inframe. Better hurry up and get that fixed otherwise you could wipe the crank. Good luck.

You have a dry sleeve engine. most likely causes are;
1. head gasket failed- causes; age, poor installation or overheated engine can cause.
2. Cracked head- causes; age, poor installation or overheated engine.
You won't know what is wrong for sure until you pull the head. I'd get the oil/antifreeze out of the oil pan ASAP. As others mentioned you'll want to look at bearings while pan is off.
I'll hope it's just a head gasket that rusted away.

99% of these are due to the engine being overheated which causes the head to warp which tears the head gasket. If you get really lucky, the head and/or block crack. Water also destroys the engine bearings. A cylinder leakdown test can pinpoint where the problem is so you know where to look but you are going to have to tear it apart to find and fix the problem(s).

Before you do, consult a machinist. This kind of work can get pricey.
