Kubota. Excellent quality tractor, every part, nut, bolt, washer made in the Kubota factory. Economical to operate, great warranty. M4900 would be my choice, 2 or 4 wheel drive depending on your terrain and duty needs.

Buying a tractor isn't just the purchase price, it is the total operating cost over a period of time. A tractor that costs more, but doesn't break down and sips fuel will be less expensive to operate than a cheaper tractor that is down due to broken parts (with a long wait for parts to be shipped in from Afganistan), won't run or is in the shop all the time.

Look around. My local NH dealer had a new 3010S on the lot for a long time. They finally priced it at $11,995 and it sold in about a day. I just saw a JD dealer website that has 5103s for $12,995 & 5105s for $14,882. Add $3500 to $4000 for a loader. Kubotas are widely discounted. Sometimes 20% off list.

ALtho I am a Deere dude, I have heard a lot of good things about Mahindra. Also depends on the dealers and the support you can get. In the compact tractors there is not a heck of a lot of difference, they (major brands that is, Deere, Kubota, etc.) are all good. I'd stay away from
the cheap Chinese stuff.

B.B., The most bang for your dollar new tractor in that hp class is the Mahindra.
42 hp (2x4) W/loader $16,200. LPTO, dual clutch, and remote hydrolics. Loader is either a GB or a Koyer, I think. Real insturmentation, & Tack, not Chinese. Brakes that will bring you around in a hurry.
The largest distributer for Mahindra in the World is a San Antonio, Texas. Parts and service to back up what they say.
STAY AWAY FROM THE..... Republic of China Tractors. Major piles of junk! No servive or parts support when tractors is out of warrenty.
Check them out ..... .www.billstractor.com
No, I have no connection with either company.
Later,
John A.
