Does anyone know why Massey undercuts the sleeve that connects the trans & rearend so it will break intead of a gear? This appears to be a bad design. I would like to know all about it. A friend has broken his twice in 138 hours. Not under warrenty, over a year old. Thanks

Something is going on here. I have worked on MF's with thousands of hours of hard work on them, that have never broken a shear sleeve.

Robin, It is called a shear tube, it is designed to break instead of a transmission or final drive component. Does he abuse this machine at times.? regards, sibby.
