OT-Brake Lights

I have a 1999 Ford F250 SD, power stroke. This morning I took a tool out of the tool box mounted in the back of the truck, I turned back to see the brake lights were on. I removed the fuse to the brake light, still on. Removed the brake light switch, the lights were still on (both sides). The only way to get the lights off is to disconect both batterys.

Anybody have any ideal where to start or how to fix this?

Thanks Kraig

You have a 6 or 7 pin trailer connector receptacle? I have both on my 90 and have had them do just exactly what you're describing, from dirt getting in and shorting out the trailer charge terminal (which is hot all the time) to the brake light terminal. This backfeeds the brake lights on the truck.

Seems to me maybe Ford had a problem with this. May want to call a stealership and ask about it.
