I have a ford model 900 tractor with a tricycle front end and gasoline motor. It looks really good and runs good. However the lift doesnt work and the clutch pedal sticks down when pushed down until you manually raise it up.New 13.6-28 tires on back.Any idea what this tractor is worth.I am looking to sell it.Any help is appreciated,Thank you.

If my name is not Paul, can I still comment?

If your tractor really is a 900 series, it will be either a 950 (five speed trans with non-live pto) or a 960 (five speed trans with live pto). The Select-O-Speed trans was not introduced until after the 900 series was replaced by the 901 series. Below is a link where you can find and decipher your model and serial numbers.

That tractor might be worth more if you part it out. New rear tires with rims can cost well over $600. Good sheetmetal, good engine all are worth money. Or you could spend some time and money getting the lift and clutch pedal working properly and have a tractor that may sell for $3000. I wouldn't plan on getting more than that.

What's the middle number of the model #? Technically there is no 900 tractor, that is only the serial number. A 960 in that condition might be worth $1000 if the engine is in great shape & you find a willing tinkerer, an SoS with that much rear end trouble would be about $500 for the engine & sheet metal? Power steering in good shape might add a couple 100 for the parts.

Depends a lot on the options you have.

Thank you for your reply. The only number is the 900 written down the front side of the tractor.Where would I find the serial#.Would that tell me more about the model# ? Thank you again, Paul.

The model & ser # are hand-stamped, sometimes lightly, on the cast lobe of iron below the air cleaner, in front of the clutch pedal. You will likely need to remove some dirt & new paint (at least a wet finger) to see it, & diesels tend to have a battery there instead of the air cleaner which eats the numbers off.

Which tranny do you have, 4 speed, 5, speed, or SoS? Do you have live pto if you have a 5-speed? Can probably figure it out from those answers too.

The serial # is important for ordering parts, and you can look up the age of your tractor with it on several sites.
