I have been seeing some real nice 2955 deeres selling for around 11 grand without fwd and cabs, with reasonably low hours. Would it be possible to find a cab at a junkyard and would it fit. I kinda figure this would be a project, but it might be worth looking into because it sure would nice to have a cab,and similar ones with a cab go for around 20 grand. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think a JD 4230 would be a better investment. Better Cab - Better Tractor - Same money.

Post this question on every discussion board you can find. Buy parts manuals covering cab and non-cab versions and study them. Personally, I think the 6 cylinder Mannheim Deeres are junk, but that is just me. Too many hydraulic and clutch problems for my taste.
