Last year I had the injector pump on the Deere rebuilt. Things were working great. Lately noticed erratic rpm's and at full load, power would do fine then drop off. Ahah! Fuel starvation? Bad Injector? Injector pump rebuild failing? $$$$$$$$$

What about fuel filters clogged? NAW, I JUST CHANGED THEM WHEN I REDID THE PUMP. No more than I use this tractor, they should be good for a couple of years. I use 55 gal drums for fuel, keep it under cover; filters at the store, and filter out of the drum.

Removed the fuel filters and rust powder was all over and in everything. Seems the fuel tank is going thru a reptile skin change.

New filters and she runs sweet as a sewing machine.

And, it quit raining and I'm making hay!(It all went to NW Nebraska.)

AH! life is sweet.

Mark

You say the fuel tank looks like a reptile skin change ? You may have bactiera growing in it.

The stuff was reddish brown and the consistency of confections sugar and was all in the filters, on top of the bottom one and all down in the cannister. There was no evidence at all of any water. I let the fuel drain for a bit to insure that the line was clear.

Thanks,

Mark

Retired engineer from JD used to spend the winter across the street from us. He had to cancel an activity we had planned because he got called back to work on JD's injection pumps. He said JD has the poorest injection system in the industry and he couldn't get management to spend the money to fix it. When he got back from that assignment, he told them never to call him again.

Mine's a Roosa Master on a '63 (as I recall) 4010. Don't know if I am before or after the era of which you speak.

Hey Mark,

Got any idea on the estamated time of arrivial of this rain thing?

So far, we've got a tenth; the cool 55 degree temps, the overcast skies and the teasing cloud cover are all here and in place, but that's all.

Now, I'm gonna hold ya to your word on this "rain transfer", okay? :>)

55 DEGREES!!!!! !!!!! !

Tell you what. I will send you some rain if you take this heat with it. Been 94-97 past few days. Then you add in the 50-60% humidity and it gives you a heat index (what it feels like) of 105-109. And it is not even summer yet. OH New Orleans...You got to love it...

I'm north of Dallas 50 miles and humidity here has been running over 85% for as long as I can remember. Live north of a couple of big lakes. This high humidity and evaporation off the lakes makes for a daily afternoon 5 minute shower that steams the place just like in Biloxi when I was in the A.F.

Glad you got it. Got the hay (mudded) down. Crimper did it's job smashing the stems and I could not believe the moisture. You could literally wring the water out of the stems.

Bob,

Family came from over around Yoder and Huntley and moved to the flats so. of Hay Springs in '48.

I was born down in Scottsbluff during the war; now live 100 mi northeast up here in the Chadron area.

Whereabouts are you?

We ended up with a screamin' 16/100ths. Yawn.

Allan, I am in Cheyenne, was born south of Trenton, Nebr,6 miles from the Kansas line.
We have a trator pull in Lyman, Nebr every year, so I go by Yoder and Huntley.
In 1956 I worked on a highway job south of just Yoder.
Think we ended up with about 2" so far, so guess that will be it for another year? Sure wish you could of had the same amount or more. I heard there is no wheat left in that area this year.
