Where does on find phosphoric acid? I have used it with the gas tank sealant kits but i don't know where to find it otherwise. does anyone know if you dilute jit with water or use it full strength. I am going to use it after a lye gravy application to strip paint off of parts. one other question. Will the phosphate coating left on the metal affect any priming of parts with a urathane primer?

The local Ace Hardware store has plenty of it here under the name "Ospho". It is a treatment for using on rusty metal before painting it. usually found in gallon size jugs. Gene

There are at least two commonly available products that contain useful concentrations of phosphoric acid:

"The Works" toilet cleaner (check the ingredients, because there are several products with the "Works" name and not all contain phosphoric acid)

"Ospho", available at many paint stores, is used for preparing rusty surfaces for painting.

I have bought it a Lowe's, but also recently found it at one of the local hardware stores. They had it in both quarts and gallons. I use it full strength, haven't used it diluted, but that may work.
