Can someone tell me if front end Loaders generally fit most tractors of similar size. I.E. I have a W6 with a loader. The tractor has a bad engine therefore I would like to sell for parts or?? but I wonder what value it might have and if the loader on it would fit other tractors of similar size. The loader looks like a modern-type manufactured loader..
Any thoughts ?

Norm

Thanks for the replies..
I'll see if I can find a model number.. Then see if I can put it up for sale..

Wonder what a used loader might be worth.. any ideas? 500-700 ?
700-900 ?
1200 and up ?

A dealer told me 2000 for used.. I think that's too high.

Norm,

Depends on the loader; if it is a good make and model and square with the world, it just may be worth that.

I had to give $1800 for a good one last fall.

I have seen good condition used medium/heavy duty name-brand (IH etc.) loaders sell for over $2000 at farm auctions, so maybe his prices are not that far off.

Hal, you made my day..

I think this will be a good job for my eager to earn a buck kids.. I'll remove the loader clean it up good and paint it. Maybe I can buy a used cab and power steering for my newly acquired Ford 5000!

I was browsing (on-line) for used loaders available from Ag dealers here in Manitoba and the cheapest was 2500.00 Norm

Hi Norm,

Generally, you will need the proper mounts for any given tractor and a good loader will fit most makes of a given size.

Hope this helps,

Allan

Loaders are funny deals. Loader frames are custom for most types of tractors and can rarely be moved to another without some cutting and perhaps some welding.

You would need to know the loader's manufacturer and model # to even begin to know what it might fit. Best bet is to talk to an implement dealer in your area. He may come out and look at it for you.
