I've been following this auction since it is being sold by the same guy (tracpit) I bought a D10 from last year. I checked out the bidders this morning and see that it is being bid up by "Betbfarm" which just happens to be another of the sellers Ebay names..... Brian Jensen from Inwood, Manitoba. Do a search for him on this forum if you want more dirt.

How does one 'bid up' an item? Seems to me that if the seller or his buddy puts in a fake bid, and no one bids higher, the thing doesn't sell at all. And the seller pays ebay a percentage of the 'winning' bid plus listing fees.
Looks like a loss all around for the seller.

The seller feels he has a bidder who wants an item and will keep on outbidding him. Depends on how greedy the seller is as to how far he will push it. This seller also always starts out low with no reserve, but always puts in the right to end an auction if sold locally. In other words he can end the auction if he is the high bidder and doesn't have to pay the selling fee.

I've seen that 'right to end auction early', but wasn't aware that it could be used to bid stuff up.

I hope you turned him in to EBay. Guys like this give a bad name to good sellers...

I don't even know how to do it since Ebay keeps changing things.
