I am about to be a first time tractor buyer. I have narrowed my search to a Ford 3910 2WD take as is in very good condition vs a Mitsubishi 4201 4WD that has been completely reconditioned and has a 90 day warrenty. I am not interested in the resale as a priority as I plan to keep this for some time, I am more concerned with getting the most for my money.

I would be interested in hearing opinions as to the better tractor.

First I have to tell you that I own a Ford 4610. Don't know much about Mitsubishi's but where do you get parts and accessories for them? If'n it was me and all things were equal, I'd take the Ford every time. The Ford 3910, like the 4610, is a pretty bullet proof design.

Mitsubishi parts aren't difficult to buy, many sources. I've run one for 11 yrs. Even hang a (Ford) hoe off the back. The Mitsubishi list has 3 participating dealers. Parts, advice, no problem.

I'm not familiar with either of the choices here but 4wd is distinctly superior. Makes a small tractor able to perform more like a larger tractor, which is what I recommend people buy.

Had occasion to help out a friend who'd just bought a used Case last week. Clearly a Mitsubishi with different paint. Cross-referencing parts is not something the Case dealer is interested in.

What are sources of Mitsubishi parts? I had a Mitzi once but could not find a source.
