I have seen other postings on using transmission fluid being added to deisel fuel as an injector cleaner. Would that be Dextron ll or type F or does it make a differance. Also how much to 15 gal of deisel fuel. Thanks for any responces.

I wouldn't put anything in diesel fuel that wasn't designed to go in diesel fuel.

I sold lubricants and fuel additives for a few years and my dad still does.

I wouldn't run ATF through a fuel system. If you need to clean your injectors, get a fuel additive designed for that. The ATF does not burn completely. It will leave ash in your engine which translates into wear.

Email me if you want more information.

Not trying to sell anything, just offering advice.

It don't matter what type really but I always figured one quart to fifty gallons of diesel. In really severe cases such as and old Farmall MD that sat for years I upped it quit a bit. It smoked for a while but cleared up.
