BE very carefull with the generic stuff. Please check the label to see where it comes from. If it says china, walk and do not look back. They got some bad stuff, it will kill nothing or everything, just buy from a local dealer who you can find next week, not out of a truck no matter how good the price sounds.

We used it and it works just as good as Round-up ultra max. Now we are using Credit... all the same stuff!!!

Be _very_ careful of chemical advise from this site, questions come up often in the 'Using Your Tractor' forum and I have seen some horrid advise from people who believe 2,4,D kills tall weeds but not broadleaves, and so on. Yikes!

Typical concerns of a person selling off the back of their pickup, you need to decide that part.

The generic glysophates are just fine. You need to look at their strength, and look at the additive package they have. All slightly different names, some are just glysophate, some have a bit of additives, some mimic the top notch stuff pretty closely. You can buy & add your own additive packages, but this raises the price of the cheap stuff. The name differences are so subtle & I'm no expert, so I'd hate to guess on which mixture you were being sold.

Generally, most folks around here use the generics. Clearout is a pretty common one, get the version with the additive package....

Good advice from Paul..... .There are some very well informed "opinions" on here, and then there's some, well, not-so-well-informed ones too. Follow manufacturers instructions to the T. Don't guess. If you don't know what you're doing, get a professional aplicator to do your spraying. As far as generic roundup products, since the patents ran out on the original Round-Up, there are now a host of generic "substitutes" on the market. From outward signs, they are all just as good. Check formulations to compare products. The one thing I have to say about people selling off the back of a truck is, What if you have a problem with their product? Do you suppose that truck will be setting there with the seller ready to help, should you need him? I like to buy from a reputable dealer/supplier whenever possible. You never know if something like that is stolen, watered down, or just plain bogus. John

Glypho-Max (41% glyphosate) was $75.00 for a 2.5g container at the Co-op. That's $30.00 a gallon, and b/c I bought a pallet they gave me another $5.00 off each jug.

Beware of any thing a Gypsy sells, promises or does.I spent 31 yrs on the Chicago Police Dept and found that they are the best thieves around. They offer services, products at supposed low and lead you to believe that you are taking advantage of their lack of education. Check that generic roundup its probably fit for human consumption.

I have used Clearout and it is okay. If you have additional chemical questions go to agriculture.com and go to the crop scouting discussion page.
