Does anyone know who makes the New Holland oil filter and is it a quality filter?

Hey cheap ralph, after you get your cheap oil and oil filter, maybe your wife can save the cooking oil and you can add that to the diesel to save another nickel. Then maybe you can find some used coolant from a radiator shop for free and save another nickel. You can keep saving these nickels and then expect to spent about $3-4000 on a complete overhaul. Then you will cry around the coffee shop about how much it cost you.

Baldwin lube B74,fuel PF7545,i air RS3704,o air RS3705.FWIW,like alot of stuff, oil filters are made by a few companies for everyone, house brands also (NAPA=Wix,man by dana I think).Check part #'s,you'll find alot the same or an extra digit or 2.Its whatever you're comfortable with, ask 10 people get 10 answers.Search 'oil filter comparision' or .minimopar.net/oilfilterstudy.html

My local WIX dealer gave me a filter for my TC33D. All I did was ask..WIX lists the TC33D in their applications book. The filter is sitting in my equipment shed. I'll get the number off it and get back to you. Don't know if it's the right one, haven't tried it yet.

Ralph,
I checked..... ....the Wix filter I have is 51056. The threaded hole and the gasket appear to match the New Holland filter, but the cannister itself is smaller. It should work. Don't know whether there is as much filter material inside, but I would not hesitate to use a Wix filter. Good luck.

You may want to use an OEM oil filter or a Mobil One filter. About two years ago on this site a guy with a lot of time on his hands bought many different filters and disassembled all and pressure checked all and gave results, From What I remember, Fram:--Junk, Wix, not too bad, Mobil one was the best, AC delco-- dont remember, Purolator, dont remember. Call a new holland dealer and get info on the right filter and see if you can cross ref. a number to get to a wix or a Mobil 1. Good luck, dont spill any on the garage floor.

You are right on mark, Robert. This guy probably spent at least $2000 too much for the tractor and then turns tight axx when it comes to maintenance items. More tractors are ruined on cheap oil, cheap filters, cheap trans/hydrolic fluid, cheap coolant than anything else. The best money you can spend is on quality lubricants.

I see more ruined from lack of maintaince and abuse period. Nothing wrong with shopping around most are built at the same factory just paying extra mark up.

That's the rub...how do you know one oil is better then the other and one filter is better then the other? Price? Because the manufacturer says so? Because the dealer says so? Not hardly.

From all the test i've ever seen, all of the OEM filters for tractors, there were no bad ones. I can't say the same for off brand or cheapo filters.

Fram for instance, they were bought out several years ago, and quality has went way down, but they look the same on the outside!

As for oil, i use a good quality oil too, like Shell Rotalla 15w40. It's not hard to see what bigger farmers are useing in there tractors, and i don't see any bigger farmers useing the lowest priced no brand oil, or oil ment for "cars" in there equipment.
