Hello, in the market for a new compact tractor. I am looking at a 30-45 hp diesel fwd with loader. I currently have a wd45 and a hd6g crawler as well as a wm crawler "project/shop decoration" I want live PTO, fwd, more than one range in gearing, and live 2 way hyds. I plan to use it with a 6'snowblower for my long driveway, and brushhogging, finish-mowing, etc etc. no farming.

I have a New Holland, Kubota, and an Agco dealer close by and was wondering if anybody had any ideas/comments/love em hate em stories about these tractors. I am leaning toward a New Holland Boomer 40A but I am open to looking at just about anything with a good reputation and a good service/dealer close by that will not go out of business in the next 7 minutes.

Thanks in Advance JSinIL

Personally i don't think one brand is better than the other, you have to pick a size and look at "all" the brands in "that" size.

Also buy one bigger than you think you need too, because a "new compact" isn't built as heavy as your old WD45. They "won't" take a beating like your WD, and they "don't" have torque like an old tractor of similar size either.

I second Tom on Kubota although I think you might get a better deal on New Holland. Depends on dealers in your area.

I have 1 small utility tractor (NH-1630) and a larger field tractor (MF-690). From my experience, i would surely get the hydrostatic transmission. It is very nice for loader work and maintenance type jobs like, rock picking, posthole drilling, box blading, mowing, and many other things. Once you get used to the hydrostatic, you would definitely not be satisified with any other arrangement. Kubota and New Holland are both very good. If buying again, I would lean toward the Kubota. Seems to me the quality of Kubota is a little higher than New Holland.

The Iseki tractors that AGCO sells seem to be the sleeper of the bunch. Check them out,you might just be impressed.
