The IAT sensor (“Intake Air Temperature”) tells the computer how hot or cold the incoming air is. The computer will then adjust the amount of fuel being injected, as well as make minor adjustments to timing based on that reading. Your IAT sensor is still working but out of the normal operating voltage range so it needs to be replaced. On many air flow meter (AFM) cars, the IAT sensor is internal to the AFM. To clear keep alive memory, (KAM) disconnect and isolate negative battery cable for a minimum of five minutes. After clearing memory, it is necessary to drive vehicle a minimum of 10 miles to allow processor time to relearn value.
