My grandfather bought a new 101 Jr. in 1943.

The serial numbers start at 503779 for 1946.

It is a late 46 I just bought one last week with serial #504664 Farmer told me it was a 30 but it is a 101JR Paid 250 for it am very happy with that. Would not sell it for that though. I am going to run mine on dyno later this week. Looking for hp in the 35+ range

Keith Oltrogges Massey Data Book has it listed as a late 1946, so you would have the 162 Continental engine. It was never tested at Nebraska with the 162 Cu. in. The 140 tested out at 30.5 belt HP, so it's more than 30. Coleken listed the serial numbers for the 101 Standard, the Rowcrops had their own ser. numbers.

My book says 101jr 1939 #375001 to 1946 #384288 No 505xxx number on any of Massey series. No HP is listed for it in the Used Tractor Guide, but it should have a Continntal 139 cu. in. Gas engine. Massey 22 looks like same engine and is listed as 18 HP PTO.
Hope this helps.

Forgot to say that if it runs and good tires, you can't go wrong for 300 dollars.
