going nuts on restored cub

to many problems on getting it right i completly restored this cub from the bottom up took it completly a part to paint did new seals and gaskets rebuilt the motor,rebuilt the carburetor yet i am having to many problems on getting it started i ave check the timing over and over at tdc i ave check the magneto many times seems to be in time i can get the tractor runnig but i have to advance the magneto all the to the motors side plus have to have the gas lever wide open and choking the heck out of it is there such a thing as a bad rebuild carburetor kit i have lots of gas pouring out of the air cleaner side of the carburetor is this normal yet my spark plugs always seem dry never wet with gas when i do get the tractor started and it smoothes out it sounds fine seems to run fine until i try to use the hydrulics to try to use the mower the rpms drop big time and the tractor wants to die i know this is a very long story but like i said i think i ave done all the right things and i am going just freaking nuts anybodys input would be greatly appreicated thanks bill

Hi,just like to say thanks to everybody that e-mailed me. Was going nuts on restoring my cub tractor. Everybodys imput really helped. I went back and found out the governor was not in time. Reset the timing marks on the governor now the tractor runs fine. Thanks everybody, Bill

If you having to advance the mag,your timing is off somewhere.Whcih Seneca are you from,SC?I live near there and may be able to help.

Double check your valve clearance. If just one valve is tight it will act this way.
