I own a craftsman lawn tractor model 917.252580 and was wondering if anyone can tell me where to get parts for the brake system? The problem seems to be at the transmission hook up.It starts at the linkage I am missing the washer and hitch pin at the end of the linkage but even with this in place there will be no adjustment left to have tension with the spring against the arm.My next problem is the return spring is missing and not sure where it hooks up.Also the arm bolts to the trans is loose it is side to side play and it acts as if it is missing something although the brake does work a little. The parts diagram omits this portion.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,Dan

You are probably limited to buying most of the tractor parts from Sears. Engine and some deck parts are common and easily found places other than Sears.

Personally, I HATE Sears and have made a vow to never go in any of their stores again. I had to sell my Crapsman mower last week because I knew if I used it I would have to buy more parts for it.

I hear that I used to own a wheel horse but sold it.I do not use a tractor that much but neighbor gave up on it and bought a new one.He could not get it to start without ether and batt would not charge.I adjusted the choke since it was wide open with the choke on and found a bad diode from the charging stator. Not bad I thought for $100 but I would not buy a new one.Tractor is in good shape just a few little things wrong.I am down to the steering and brakes. But can live with both if it gets to costing too much.
