Well I've got two more questions that are not in my manual. Mine has the gas engine. It's 158 CI. Can someone tell me how many HP that is?

My hydraulic pump is leaking. I think it has been rebuilt. IT's leaking between the pump cover and the pump body. My manual does not show a gasket between these parts (and that scares me). I'd rather know if there is supposed to gasket there before I tear in to it. Thanks

Thanks for the input. I thought I'd let you folks know what the problem was. Turns out the pump cover had not been tightened and now I know why. I replaced the springs and exhaust valve balls and gaskets. I tightened the valve plate screw as tight as I could, but when I thightened the Pump Cover bolts, I could hear some little "pops" coming from inside the pump. Turns out I bent all of the exhaust valve guides or (as Ford calls them) cages. I've done this twice now. Straightened them out last time and used 2 gaskets...works fine now. I've got new ones to put in again. I used original Ford parts. Don't know what the problem is. Thanks again.

Myron and Mark;

We had a Ford 2000 gas(158 ci) It was a good handy tractor fot alot of stuff but I never did think it worked good on a plow. But the it was probably operator malfinction. Like trying to plow in 4th instead of 3rd.
