Hope someone knows the answer.
I have a Ford 8N, It starts up fine. but after it warms up it dies and will not start till it dam well wants to.
I read the messages of other 8N problems and bought a new coil. Put it in and it fired right up. Let it idle for a while and it up and died. Tried to start it and it would not catch. Pulled spark plug and key on pressed the starter. No spark. Any Ideas?
Thanks a million.

Thank You for all the assistance.
I started to chack all the wiring. Traced the White + wire from the coil to a
connection under the hood behind the gauges.
It was loose and I tightned it up. Would you believe it.. She fired right up.
I mowed for 3 hours and it ran great.
Stopped and started it a few times with no problems.

Thanks for the assistace.

One more thing that you might want to check, is for a buildup of oil or grim in the area under the plate that supports the points. I have seen this happen when engine warms up & the oil in the distributor gets hot it will short out the points.

Try by passing the ignition switch (with a jumper wire) Is this a sidemount (late 8N)or front mount (early 8N) distributor?

Could be any of the ignition components.
Do you have power to the coil/points when it plays up? If not it could be a poor connection somewhere.
When you have a spark is it a good blue spark or a poor yellow one? If yellow, change the condenser.
Is the points gap correct? If they are not separating when it warms up..... .
The rotor arm could be leaking, but not likely.
Spark could be going somewhere other than to plugs - check for spark at points by opening (with an insulated screwdriver?) with power on.
Beware and be sure it is an ignition fault before changing all the components - gets kinda expensive changing everything and finding the fault is elsewhere
Regards and let us know what you find, RAB

Don't forget to check the ignition switch itself. Had a customers NAA that did that, worked for a while then quit. Was a real hairpuller figuring it out.

Next time it quits you must promptly begin checking for electricity(VOM or test probe) by beginning at the battery and checking each and every item in the circuit sequentially. When you've determined that each componet has electricity move to the secondary circuit. and do the same. You may have more than one problem so repeat the process ofter you correct the first problem. This avoids skipping something.
