My fathers in law old 43H he bought new in 1943, the receipt is still around, is available for $1000.00. The motor has been stuck for a few years [10-15?].This tractor did the mowing [300A, pulled corn chopper,50A, sawed the wood 15 cords [has narrow front}, tin was in good shape last I saw it. It is 75 miles away. It was semi-retired in about 1970. Worked only on the Libby farm. Other tractors of same era would have more time on them. The M with wide front did all the heavy work. Is it worth it with $1500 to $2000 more to restore it to good condition? [I know it is worth more to us as wife remembers going after it].

I fixed up a 43 H about 11 years ago. Neat and fun tractor. Put it in a number of parades and took really good care of it since. It is now being used for light farm work so it has rejoined the work force I guess. It has basically new tires (not much used off) and the paint is holding up good and is pretty original (electrical system and so on). If I was to sell it I would let it go for $1200. Makes that $1000 for one that is stuck sound a little high. But as said already, money tends to be no object for a family tractor with sentimental value. I believe H's will hold there value. Maybe go up slightly in the next few more years. I wouldn't look for no sky-rocketing on the H Farmall market though. For #1 to many produced. For #2 they are getting to be to primitive for modern day use. And #3 the H is a little big for alot of people (more interests being shown in the smaller tractors like the Cub, A, B, and C). Just my 2 cents.

Bill thanks ---In 1943 Bob was running a fox farm [silver foxes] be no need for a tractor for the foxes , but there was about 20A in back fields and others he could rent in area , Do not know what he used it for, But it was his first tractor, spent a little time on it , but as i said the M was the work horse ,spent a lot of time on that ,My job was in the paper mill here,[that shut down in Jan may never start 500 hundred out of work in a town of 5,000],that will enter into the picture also [in 69] Was hopeing to get for about $300 GEO.

I believe that $1000. might be a little to much as you say the motor is stuck , although if it means alot for sentimental reasons then price should not be a factor ( the thousand or whatever it takes )normally I would value one with a stuck engine at around $500. or $600. I agree with Nebraska cowman that the H could be among the most wanted of the collectors tractors as time passes. also it is one of the most popular and best tractors ever built (look at all of them that are still around and a good number are still being used regularly.

I would not hesitate to pay that or more for a "family' tractor. And a plus is I believe that the H is going to see a marked increase in value in the next few years. Fix it up right and hang on to it and you will be glad you did.
