I'm told that you have all the answers,,,well here goes,,I've got a B and I've found a Super C baler engine that I want to put in it,,the problem is with the cutout where the steering shaft goes,,can I grind into that block and make the cutout with out getting into the oil galley? Also have you or do you know of anyone that has tried this swap? Thanks for the information,,,,

There should be no problems as there are no oil passages near. I thought all of those had passage for the steering. The one i have has the cutout so do the two blocks i have that are for a C. Does your block have the cutout for the starter below the filter the you probably have a plate for a fuel pump and also a dipstick? This is the first i heard of no place for the steering shaft.

My father and I did the same swap years ago. We did some measuring and marked it out with soap stone and drilled along the marking. then we did some grinding to smooth it out. It was a little time consuming.

Well I guess my question first question would be was it worth the effort and second did you put a hydraulic pump on it or is there not room because of the steering shaft?

Yes it was. The block in the tractor was cracked on the top and we had this setting there. As far as the HYD. pump I am not sure but I think it will work. GeneB or Hugh Mackay could probably tell you for sure.
