Ihave a friend who owns a 48 Farmall cub with plow and blade in fair to good condition and running. She wants to have local FFA chapter restore it before she sells it. I suggested it might be worth more in "original unrestored condition" rather than have an amatuer restoration done.

Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated..

It would take the right instructer and a special group of kids to do an A #1 job. Restored a couple myself as an idividual student in vo-ag shop. Some of the kids that were in my vo-ag class would of completely ruined a tractor if given the chance. My advise would be, either donate the tractor to the FFA chapter, or sell it to them at a reduced price compared to what you would sell it to the public for. That is if you have a soft spot for the FFA. Otherwise sell it to anybody and everybody for the almighty DOLLAR as is. By the time you restored it and footed the bill for it, you would likely not see a 100% return of your money anyways. Just paint job might be worth doing though before you sell it. Not shooting the idea down here at all on providing some opportunity for some FFA youngsters, but just giving you a little reality check. Just my 2 cents.
