Just noticed today that the left brake appears to be sticking after applying the brake. The brake is not sticking enough to lock the wheel but it is obvious that some braking is being applied. The brake will release when the tractor is moved in reverse. Is this an indication that the brakes are worn out or is this an adjustment. Some months back in a moment of stupidity, I adjusted the brakes and over tightened the left brake. I did not realize the brake was maladjusted until I drove the tractor to the local gas station to fuel up (approximately 2 miles), got home and smoke was coming from the left brake housing. I adjusted the brake to the correct specifications after it cooled and everything worked great until today. Secondly, does anyone have experience replacing the brakes and how difficult is this repair. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The left brake is the tough brake to replace because you have to remove the differential-lock assembly before you get to the left brake. Just make sure you keep everything lined up, and put everything back together in the right order and you shouldn't have too much trouble.

I'd take a closer look at the left brake linning. Sounds like you may have smoked it.
