Can any one tel me a good way to keep the rabbits from chewing up my wife's flowers? I'm not allowed to use my shot gun or rifle.

Build a rabbit trap like the old days. Catch'm and then transport them to countryside where they will be appreciated. Kinda fun too.

If you can't shoot them with your guns, get rid of your guns and use a sling shot, or plant more flowers.

Blood meal is very effective but it also stinks quite a bit.

I have heard that cayanne pepper works, dont know if its true. Or you can buy that stuff at the hardware store that keeps animals off.

CATS-have some of the same problems as dogs except they don't dig up the flower bed to sleep they have another purpose in mind. However I don't have a rabbit problem near the house.

... but results may vary.

Dad had a garden and fenced the whole thing in with 3' chicken wire. Every once in a while we would have to trap and rid it of one that would dig under it.

Option two - dog. But you have to feed them and on hot days they may be found in flower bed cooloing off after diggin up bout half of it.

I wonder if you could do somethin like spriklin hot pepper on the ground. It works for keeping mice outa feed????? ?

Not attractive but we use chicken wire fenceing. Tried sprinkling our hair clippings around. Didn't work.

I read in some gardening rag that burying soda bottles near the plants with the neck sticking out, breezes would make them sound, not loud enough for us, but is supposed to spook rabbits;
As soon as the weather is better I'm putting 100 strawberry plants out and I am going to try it. Wind we have, and cottontails, I've watched them crawl thru my chain link fence to get to the garden!! I hope it works, my cat brings me a carcass once in a while, but not as infested as we are.
