We received our first snowfall of our North Georgia winter, a whopping 1-2 inches. Mostly slushy stuff since it's 33 degrees outside. I wanted to get the tractors out to lay some tracks in the snow but had to go to work instead. There wasn't much traffic, but the worst of the traffic was the SUVs. ALL of those rugged, off-road, Hummer Wanna-bees were creeping along at 15 MPH on the highway when it was safe to drive 40-45. Go figure.

yesterday was the first time since november that I could see the dirt driveway. we have about 3ft. left on the ground. I take great pleasure in driving my mf65 threw the deep spots still amazes me how well a tractor can go.

Randall, I'm in Lawrenceville but have some tractors and equipment in Clayton also. There will be a nice tractor show in Carrolton on April 24-25 also. I might try to make it to Clermont.

Remember seeing some TV footage from Portland, Or. first snow..showed one guy spinning around in his 4 wheel drive pickup, only thing though, the guy never had it in 4 wheel... probably didn't know how.

whoopee

If you need more, I've cornered the market on it and am letting it go at wholesale prices.

My backyard is one solid 8' bank, with some spots about 12'. The swingset is now a memory. Luckily the wind swirled just right and my garden shed is still mostly exposed, but I could walk onto the roof (10' above the ground) if the banks were a bit closer to it. We've had no inkling of a thaw yet, and should have snow well into April.

You are lucky to just get your first snow now. We have had snow since the middle of November, and the ground is still white but is now thawing and melting some. I plow snow for the township and use this '72 Oshkosh with GVW of 42,000 lbs. The 4 wheel drive comes in handy for the steep hills I clear. It has a 12 ft. wing hanging out the other side. Power is furnished by a 1673 C Cat turbo charged engine.

I'll send you some Wichita drivers to teach you how to drive on snow and ice. Actualy it's pretty simple. Just keep both feet stomped flat on the floor all the time and hang on.
