What do you guys use to tow tractors to shows and stay in at the show? I have been looking at motorhomes but have not found any that have enough towing capacity to handle a trailer with a tractor on it safely.(Est.5000-7000 # GW of trailer and load ocassionally.)The bigger truck chassis rigs are out of my price range.($20-30,000 max.) Building a rig is too time consuming for this years show circuit. Is there a coach that I have not found yet? Thanks,Chris

I have a S-1900 IH with a 19ft coach conversion. It was built by me and a couple of buddies for less than the cost of a new pickup. I tow a 32 ft. dual tandem with it. I would never consider towing with a pickup again considering the terrain I live in. And it gets better milage than most 1 tons.

Have seen truck campers set forward on gooseneck trailers at tractor pulls, looked like a nice way to go. Nothin like a nice big porch on your camper.

I have a Ford F250 Diesel with Pop-up truck camper and a 24' tri-axle bumper hitch trailer. If you know what I mean by a pop-up truck camper. It the same as a regular truck camper and extends over the cab but the roof lowers so the part extending over the cab is only about 16" deep. These don't catch the wind much and you really don't know you've got it on the truck. We like it.

Bought a tent. 9 x 12 on sale at sears for 29.95.Has worked good for me for 2 years now. Bought an air matress last year. That realy helped. I use a JD PTO air pump to inflate it. works good until you end up somewhere without a tractor. Had to buy a 12 volt compressor last fall. Worked, but was slow. A tent is not for everyone, but is a lot less hassle and $$$ than loading and unloading a pickup camper. Jody

Well, in the camping magazines, i've seen picture ads of a tent that is attached to the pickup bed, collapsed for driving, set it up when you get to the show! Or, a small cap, bed length, tall enough to sit up in, windows on side. On top, at rear cap opening, above top gate, screw in 2 long sheet metal screws, let them stick up 1 inch. Get a tarp, long enough to stretch out 10 feet behind the truck. Get poles to hold it up, and ropes and stakes to hold it in place! Put the grommets over the 2 screws, and stretch the tarp out, put poles in grommets in other end of tarp, hook looped ropes over ends of poles, tighten everything up, put in the stakes and there ya are with yer camp set up! Of course ya can't move the truck with this setup! Cook on the tail gate, or take a folding table, or one of those wooden slotted kind. A couple coolers for perishables and beer or pop, cook pots, Gasoline stove or propane, and yer all set! Sleep in the cap! How do i know? Did it fer years! Hit many bluegrass festivals over the years. (Need a drawing? Write me, i'll send one!)

If you only have one tractor and a 20' trailer you could put the pop-up on the trailer behind the tractor. You could set it up right on the trailer or just hitch it to the tractor to load and unload it. LOL
