My bobcat M600 is missing the hydraulic filter condition gauge. It appears that a small line runs from my filter housing up to the area where the gauge is suppose to be, the line is crimped and the gauge is missing. The line is only attached with a compression fitting, so I know there is no high pressure in it, however, when I found it loose and tightend it, my air in the hydraulics problem was solved. I think the gauge works off of vacuum from this line, but I am only guessing....Does anyone know how this systme works and where I can find a replacement gauge. I suppose bobcat sells them, have not check with them yet, but does anyone know of a supplier for this sort of stuff.

Thanks

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Most filter gauges work on differintial pressure from the inlet side to the outlet side. The filter mfg specs the psi drop before the filter needs changing or about 10spi of resistriction. You would bring each line to a "T" fitting then single line up to the gauge.

I've never seen a Bobcat system tho and just saying for gerneral info as the Bobcat could be plumbed different.

Bruce, why not go to the dealer and fix it correctly instead of trying to jury rig something that ain't right and won't let you know if you may be having a problem..... ..

The gauge is most likely a vacuum gauge as you suspect. Any gauge you install would have to function within the range of whatever spec Bobcat has set for a 'good' or 'plugged' filter. Why not just cap or plug the line securely to eliminate aeration and change the filter in a timely manner? The machine probably has a decal and/or manual with recommended service intervals
