My IH 574 gas is basically a motor on wheels that drives hydraulic pumps. I have a separate pump just for the loader. If I were to put a wood splitter on the back, what would I have to do to get a hydraulic pressure supply to the splitter directional valve, preferably without modifying any lines. Is this the same way I would run a hydraulic pump rake? How much would rpm matter?

Put quick disconnects on the inlet and return of the spool valve. Then just plug the disconnects into the tractor. After you do this tie the handle that controls that remote open so that there is fluid cycling to the spool valve on the splitter. The higher the RPMS on the tractor the higher the pressure will be to the splitter, and the splitter will operate faster due to the increased flow. I built on for the back of my tractor, but I really prefer to use a small engine powered splitter. Our gas 656 drinks a lot of fuel compared to a 10 horsepower Briggs.
