Thanks for the comments on canceling direct TV. I will not worry. I too had a time with Earth link..never worked, never could stop them from billing me. They finly gave up when I did not pay. Thats one of the reasons I was worried. Just found out from friend that they have a newer "oval" dish that is supposed to get "RFD". He said that they wanted $15.00 shipping and free instalation, but he talked them into getting it for free. Its supposed to give 7 more channels...one is catholic channel he wants, and the RFD that I want. I was going to go to dish network, but will follow up on the dish upgrade.
He says they are going to increase the fee by 3 dollars a month begining in March, but if he gets the upgrade dish they will comit him to another year at the old price for a year Sounds good. Please! this is as I understand it and I am not sure of all of this...your on yout own.

I should have explained. Here on my round dish,379 say "channel not available". I'm In colorado. Do you hav the little round dish, the oval dish or two dishes? If I understand them, I could get it if I upgrade to the oval dish (two satelites???)

On directv.com...the list of avaiable channels in the cheapest (33 dollars) group lists RFD, but has a astric (sp?) beside it. says "not available in all areas" There are several channels with this mark. I "think" these channel are on a diferent sat. and require a dish with multiple directions. This could explain why some here on the forum get it and some, like me, do not. I am considering getting a newer dish.....if I get it all figgured out. My friend will do this so he can get 422 EWPN, the catholic cannel, for his wife, who is in bad health.

I've had one small 18"? dish with 2 LNBs for about 3 years, basic programing, RFD, $24.95/month.
Additional dish is required for local channels, free installation, another $5/month. I use an old AB channel switch to go from antenna to sat.
